You know the one. Its the one where buying a simple part, or making a small adjustment or whatever will solve the problem...but doesn't. Stupid courtesy light. Thanks for making me go through wiring diagrams discourtesy light.

And the next thing you know your elbow deep in your engine bay screaming curse words while your girlfriend watches in horror! That's usually my version.

not far from the truth, I shorted the dome light messing around with it and it took me forever to realize it was in the main bus under the hood. Thanks for not labeling your sub-bus fusebox Toyota!

Burn the vehicle down, start fresh. That's what my mechanical training tells me.

*tissk tissk* Toyota.
I own a VW, so dealing with anything electrical is the first bad choice you could make that lands you squarely on a slippery slope that may or may not end in fire. I also don't possess a degree in Electrical Engineering which is listed as needed in my owner's manual.

Sounds like you may have a short somewhere (either a wire or inside a component). WS=BG (weird shit = bad ground). Electrical issues are fun aren't they?

no, I dont think its that complicated, the remote entry system is "smart" in that it relocks the doors if you don't open one in a given timeframe and since the courtesy light doesn't come on for one door at assumes that door was never open, I've locked myself out and my wife has with our girls inside. You get the keys out, unlock the door, put the oldest in her carseat and shut the door to go around to put the other in and *click*. Oh and where are those key? they fell on the floor when you were putting her in.
